The SP-01 Superflow line from Selle Italia is about creating a light, comfortable perch on which to power through on the stiffest bikes and roughest roads. It has the largest channel in the Selle Italia stable, and an innovative split-tail system to isolate and damp vibrations before it reaches your nether regions.
Superflow is the saddle maker’s channel technology, where they open up the middle of the saddle so your nether regions experience next to no pressure. But comfort is not just about cutouts and padding. It’s also about having a firm base with just the right curve and flex, so that you’re not distracted by movement on the saddle and so most of your energy goes into pedaling. By splitting the rear of the saddle, the tail has an easier time flexing, taking up bumps and vibrations while still being firm enough in front for on –the-rivet hammering
The saddle has a Fibra-Tek microfiber synthetic leather cover that looks good and lasts long. It’s covering thin padding that gives just enough to feel comfy. And the padding itself sits on top of a carbon composite shell.
Supporting everything are high-modulus 7mm by 9mm Carbo Keramic rails; carbon rails with a ceramic coating.
There are two versions of the saddle: the Large is 286mm long by 142mm wide, aka the L3 idmatch shape, weighing 165g, the Small is 286mm long by 130mm wide. Weight for the small is 160g.
